Dombrower Corporation List of Action Keystrokes for Earl Weaver Baseball II 4 March, 1991 Action Keys The action keys are pretty much the same from EWB 1.5. In all cases below, on keypad use the cursor keys, with a joystick point in the desired direction and press the fire button, and on the keyboard use the key pattern: q w e a s d z x c. Action Defense Keys Pitching Phase 1 - select type and speed of pitch Break Left | Straight | Break Right Slow | Slow | Slow ------------------------------------------------------------ Break Left | Straight | Break Right Medium | Medium | Medium ------------------------------------------------------------ Break Left | Straight | Break Right Fast | Fast | Fast ------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: Speed will reflect the current pitcher's velocity rating. Pitching Phase 2 - select attempted location of pitch Upper Left | Middle High | Upper Right ------------------------------------------------------------ Left | Middle | Right ------------------------------------------------------------ Lower Left | Middle Low | Lower Right ------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: Better accuracy on pitches down the middle with medium speed, but these are also MUCH easier to hit (especially for the computer). Control rating for current pitcher is reflected in the percentage of time requested pitch is in the strike zone. Pitcher Phase 3 - select pitch/pick off/pitch out etc. (Baserunners, if any, are now "alive" and can advance at their own risk) Pitch Out | Out of Strike Zone | Pick Off ------------------------------------------------------------ Pitch Out | In Strike Zone | Pick Off ------------------------------------------------------------ Pitch Out | Out of Strike Zone | Pick Off ------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: For pitch out of strike zone, same Control ratings apply. That is, the control rating determines the percentage of the time that the pitcher will actually be able to throw a ball on purpose. Fielding As in all other EWB products, the fielders automatically chase and catch the ball. Throw the ball by pointing to the base desired (if using a joystick, point and press the fire button) Second Base Third Base Pitcher's Mound First Base Home Plate As usual, if a ball is in flight from the outfield, pressing any button will activate the cutoff man and he will attempt to catch the ball before it passes him. Action Offensive Keys Batting As usual, batting requires RELEASING the swing button. The swing button may be held down during the windup. Keyboard | Key Pad | Joystick --------------------------------------------------- Swing s | 5 | button 1 --------------------------------------------------- Bung d | 6 | button 2 --------------------------------------------------- Run | | Forward w | 8 | stick up --------------------------------------------------- Run | | Back x | 2 | stick down --------------------------------------------------- ================================== END =====================================
